What is a diopter in reading glasses?
A diopter indicates the magnifying power of reading lenses. The higher the number, the stronger the magnification. Our Readers come in +0.5, +1.0, +1.5 and +2.0, so you can choose the level that feels most comfortable for close-up vision.
How do I choose the right reading strength?
Lower diopters are generally suited to lighter reading support, while higher diopters provide more magnification. If you are unsure which strength you need, we recommend checking with an optician or eye-care professional. You can also use the strength guide (PDF) on this product page to help you choose.
Do the Readers filter blue light?
Yes. Our Readers lenses filter blue light to help reduce digital eye strain. A back-side anti-reflective blue coating cuts glare, and anti-oil and anti-scratch coatings keep the lenses clean and durable.
Can I wear my Readers outdoors?
Yes. Every pair comes with a matching magnetic SUN Blue clip, polarized with UV400 protection and Category 3, so you can keep reading in the sun. Category 3 lenses are not suitable for driving at twilight or night.
Can I wear Readers for driving or walking around?
Readers magnify for close-up tasks such as reading and screens, so distance vision will look blurred. Take them off for driving and walking.
What if my eyes need different strengths?
Both lenses in our Readers have the same strength. If your eyes need different strengths, or you have astigmatism, ask your optician about prescription lenses; our prescription-ready frames are made for that.
Which frames are available as Readers?
DEAN, GEORGE, EMMA and DARRYL. DEAN and DARRYL also come in Slim, a slightly smaller version of the same shape.
What comes in the box?
Your Readers in your chosen strength and fit, a matching SUN Blue clip-on, a felt frame case, a felt clip-on pouch and a cleaning cloth.
Do you offer free shipping and returns?
All orders ship from Switzerland. Delivery is free in Switzerland on orders of CHF 199 or more, and for international orders IWEAR.LEGEND covers import duties and taxes.
